Sam, Vicki, Janet, Kennedy, Charlotte, April, Humma, Freya, Hannah, Jordana, Shannan, Molly, Sophie, Cherise and Julia are a tight knit team that are committed to the well-being of the children in their care. They nurture each child through play and exploration. Also we have Nick that supports afterschool children, to be safe and have fun.
Between them, they have many years' experience of caring for children, some including their own.
Sam - Preschool Manager
Foundation Degree in Early Years Level 5
Sam is preschool manager and has worked at Early years @ Lightcliffe since 2009, before that she was on the committee for four years.
She has worked in childcare since leaving school both as a nanny and an early years practitioner. She gained her foundation degree in Early Years in July 2013. Sam is Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, designated safeguarding lead and paediatric first aid trained.
Sam is married and has a son and a daughter. In her spare time, she loves walking, reading, eating out, watching rugby league and holidays!
Vicki - Deputy Manager

Vicki is preschool deputy manager and has worked at Early Years @ Lightcliffe since 2018. Vicki is paediatric first aid trained.
​
Vicki is married with 3 children. Her favourite things to do whilst at home is walking their dog Otis, baking, watching rugby from super league to her oldest daughter and having days out with her family and friends.
​
Vicki has been qualified within Childcare Level 1, 2 and 3 since 2009. Discovering new and interesting things over the years by completing online and face to face courses.

Hannah - Early Years Teachers

Hannah has worked at Early Years @ Lightcliffe since May 2023 and is paediatric first aid trained.
Hannah is in her twenties. She lives with her husband, son and many pets. She enjoys baking especially cakes. Hannah loves music and will always catch her humming something. Hannah loves spending time with my family & friends.

She was born in South East London & moved to Dubai when she was 7 years old. She lived out in the UAE until she decided she wanted to come back to the UK to do her degree where she went to QMUL. Hannah then moved to Huddersfield in March of 2023.

April - Early Years Practitioner

April started at Preschool in 2022 and is paediatric first aid trained.

April is in her twenties. April very close to becoming a level 3 practitioner in Early Years.
April lives at home with her cat, Maeve. She loves to be outdoors & is always active! She often spend her free time with family and friends on day’s trips (April's favourite would be the Donkey Sanctuary or a beach day).
I have been working in childcare for 3 years now and aim to keep progressing in the industry and become a fully qualified SENDCo.
Molly - Early Years Practitioner

Molly started at Early Years in September 2024.

Molly is training to becoming a level 3 practitioner in Early Years. She love to be outdoors in all weathers, mainly walking her dogs.

Molly often enjoy spending her free time going on shopping trips.
Freya - Early Years Practitioner

Freya started working at Early Years in September 2023. She is also paediatric first aid trained.

Freya is in my twenties. She has an older brother and sister. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going shopping and out for food. She went to Northowam primary school through to year 6, then went to Lightcliffe academy. After high school she went to Huddersfield New collage, where she studied level three health and social care. After collage she worked part time in a café whilst looking for an apprenticeship until she found here.
Julia - Early Years Play worker
Julia has worked in Preschool since.
Julia has been in childcare for over five year. She lives with her partner and has two sons. She was born in Cheltenham, Gloucester. She moved up to West Yorkshire in 1990.
She mostly spend her free time seeing and looking after her two Grandchildren. Julia also likes doing word searches as well.
Janet - Preschool Senior staff

Janet has a level three diploma in Preschool practice and has been working at Early Years @ Lightcliffe since 2002,
before that she was in the manufacturing business. Janet is paediatric first aid trained.
Janet is married with a grown up daughter, in her spare time she likes to garden, read, travel and walk her family pet dog Oakley.

Kennedy is in her 20's and is our baby room leader. She lives with her son and their two fish. She enjoys spending time with her son, family and friends.
Kennedy has worked at Early Years @ Lightcliffe since April 2022.
She lived in Ripponden growing up before moving to Hipperholme at 16.

Charlotte has worked at Early Years @ Lightcliffe since September 2023 and is paediatric first aid trained.

Charlotte is in her twenties. She was born in Pontefract and grew up in Castleford before moving to Huddersfield with her boyfriend.
Charlotte now lives in Golcar with her two French bulldogs Reggie and Ronnie. She enjoys going swimming and walking her dogs. She also like cooking and going out with friends.
Humma - Early Years Practitioner

Humma has 2 children of her own and has been working at Early Years @ Lightcliffe since 2016 and is paediatric first aid trained.
In her spare time, she likes to work out, go for long walks and socialise with family and friends.
Jordana - Early Years Practitioner

Jordana started working in our team in 2024. She is also paediatric first aid trained.

Jordana is in her late twenties. She is originally from Bradford but moved to Halifax in 2023. She has worked in childcare since 2018 after completing her degree and has worked with all ages with in the nursery settings.
She enjoys watching sunrises and sunsets. Jordana likes reading thriller books. She also enjoys going to watch rugby with family and friends. She is very family oriented and love spending time when she can with her two nieces and nephew.
Shannan - Early Years Apprentice

Shannan started working at Early Years in April 2024

Shannan is 18 years of age. She has worked in childcare for around 2 years. Shannan has fought in the World Junior Championship through boxing in Germany. She likes to go on long walks especially for charities such as cancer research (renal kidney cancer).
Cherise - Early Years Practitioner

Cherise started working at Early Years in Novemeber2024.
​
Cherise is 18 years old. She lives with her Mum, Dad and brothers. She loves spending time with her family and friends. Cherise has a dog called Tyson and 34 fish.
When Cherise was little she had a pet lamb called Mint Sauce.
She have lived in Halifax since she was born. She worked at the Enchanted Tea Gardens for 3 years before now coming here.
Nick has worked with afterschool club since.
Nick in his spare time really enjoys working on cars and spending time with Julia and the Grandchildren. He also really enjoys spending time with his Mum.
He likes going out walking and helping his friends when I can such as one of his friends has an ice – cream van.

Nick lives with my partner of 26 happy years together.
